My 3rd visit to Aldi- this time I get a few more items -and I spent about $36 and some of the prices I don't think you are a big deal. If you look for sales, And use them at a place except double coupons you can often get brand names for a lesson with all the charges...

  • Rude staff

Avoid this product. It has no taste and the sausage was some kind of mystery meat. I also noticed meat packages being sorted on the floor before being placed in the cooler. This place is not that great. Sales at a big supermarket are a much better deal and the food...

Sav-A-Lot is the biggest rip-off store ever. I've worked in grocery for almost 10 years and the name of that store could not be more ironic.

As a "several years" shopper at ALDI, I feel they offer great value in most of their foods. The few times I've taken anything back for replacement or refund, they've been courteous and quick to accommodate me. (Particularly in the Burlington, NC store, where...

I agree with you about Aldi. I shop there all the time.

We, luckily have three to choose from; two close by, and one a bit farther away. That store has really been a big help in saving me grocery money. Sometimes I go in there and I see a huge bargain on something, or a big markdown on something I use anyway, and I will stock up. I love their canned tomato products, their tortilla and potato chips, salsa, block cheeses, ground chicken, cappuccino in French Vanilla, their produce is great, especially bananas and sweet potatoes.

That store is my favorite one, and I do not work their, either, but the people there seem to enjoy their jobs. Aldi cashiers are allowed a stool to sit on while they work, which I feel all cashiers everywhere should be entitled to do.

Aldi Grocery in New Hyde Park, New York - Advertising items they don't have. A big comeon.

In their flyer they advertise products that are on sale but not in the store. Excuse the truck did not come in. The cukes are on their last legs (check the soft ends), bananas you will find are sometimes have bad spots, the eggs are the furtherest thing from fresh overall I use to spend a lot at Aldi however it is getting harder and harder to find things you like and are interested in. It use to be a good store in Milford, Ct but it is going downhill real fast. Guess this is what happens when you deal in closeouts and surplus items (special buys).

I love the Aldi Clancy tortila chips, all the various chips, choc. covered pretzels, etc.

You can't beat the price so don't raise the prices!

And I really, really stocked up when they were on sale!!

I just wish Aldi made a totilla chip with 'low salt' I am sure they compare to other leading brands but for some reason the chip tastes salty to me and we all don't need that so much salt as we get it in enough other foods. :)

I don't work for Aldi, but I do shop there. I think they have saved the day for me, with their low prices.

I got some mangoes for 39 cents today, as well as an ice cream cake half price. There are some products I don't buy there, like fresh meats, except for the Tyson ground chicken. I love their frozen cheese ravioli, their canned and fresh vegetables and fresh fruits. Sometimes, by the end of the week, things are a bit icky, but I usually by when the sale starts on Wednesday, or at least by Saturday when they have gotten more fresh stuff in.

I get their tortilla chips, saltines, canned tomatoes, canned black beans, flour tortillas, bags of rice, the capuccino (french vanilla--yummy!), the grape-cranberry juice drink, avocados, margarine in tubs, sour cream, eggs, bread, and only a few times had an issue, but I look at the dates on the packages, and only buy the freshest I can, just as I would wherever I buy food. I have had problems at Publix, Winn Dixie, and Walmart, so I don't think Aldi is the only store with an occasional issue with either freshness or being out of stock on sale items.

I do get out alot however maybe Aldi in Texas receives fresher stuff than we do in the Northeast. They are a grocery clearing house other than a few products like Millville.

The eggs are the furthest you can get from fresh, check the dating on the dairy product you are buying and it is obvious you don't. I was like you until I started checking. Also I don't really care for brown lettuce or soft cukes, or rotten bananas.

By the way do you work for them? :grin

:cry Guess you don't get out often - I have had this happen in many stores. Nationwide ads are to blame.

I have never had any issues with the meat and dairy products.

I buy most of my fresh fruit and veggies there - have not encountered any more "issues" at Aldi than I have at the giant chain stores. You actually described my last trip to Walmart and Albertson's!
